Dr. Khattak obtained his medical degree from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at The Hospital for Sick Children. He subsequently completed a clinical year in Emergency Services and Neonatal Intensive Care, followed by a fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. He has served on Scientific Advisory Boards as well as Speakers Bureau for several major pharmaceutical companies, and has authored several award winning scientific articles and abstracts in peer review journals.
Dr. Khattak is a Board-Certified Pediatrician in Canada. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Academy of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the Canadian Society of Clinical Pharmacology.
He evaluates and manages a variety of behavioural or developmental concerns amongst children, adolescents and adults.
Christine has been with The Kids Clinic since 2004, and has gained experience in all areas of the clinics operations. She is a qualified medical report transcriptionist and writer. In addition to management duties she has been trained in administering various psychometric tests and assisting the physicians with their examinations and assessments. She possesses a full understanding of all our services and strives to ensure all patients receive the best care possible.
Ashley has earned her Masters of Science in Education and is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers. She also holds a Bachelor of Science with majors in Psychology and Crime and Deviance from the University of Toronto, and certification in Autism and Behavioural Science from Seneca College. Her skills and experience includes teaching; program development, coordination and management; consultation with parents and schools; and conducting educational assessments. Ashley believes that all children deserve the opportunity to flourish and grow as individuals.
Dr. Shah has over 30 years of experience in Family and Integrative Medicine. After obtaining his Medical (MBBS, MCPS) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) degrees from the University of Karachi, he practiced at Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD).
He joined Kids Clinic in 2009 and has been integral in conducting patientassessment, counseling and management of children and adolescents, focusing in the areas of behavioral and developmental disorders. He has been actively involved in clinical research and has participated in major successful audits by FDA and Health Canada.
Dr. Shah helped establish a center in Pakistan in 2015, offering the same range of services as Kids Clinic, after which he has returned to rejoin our current team in Canada.
Sarah is a licensed Nurse Practitioner who has earned her Masters in Nursing following a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree where she graduated with Honours from York University.
Sarah specializes in child and adolescent mental health. As a Nurse Practitioner, Sarah is able to
provide diagnoses, prescribe and manage medication, and provide psychotherapy. Sarah has
experience working with children, adolescents, and their families, including those struggling
with anxiety, obsessions and compulsions, gender diversity, attention deficit/hyperactivity,
personality challenges, depression, autism and eating disorders. She has a special interest in
the impact of sleep challenges on mental health. She understands the importance of
identifying individual and family strengths and using these to foster overall wellness. Sarah is
passionate about healthcare and takes a client- and family-centred approach when addressing
client’s needs and implementing treatment plans.
Arthishia is the Lead Clinical Research Coordinator at the Kids Clinic. With a Molecular Biology
and Biotechnology background from the University of Toronto and a postgraduate certificate in
Clinical Research acquired from The Michener Institute of Education at UHN, Arthishia has
extensive knowledge in clinical studies. She has worked on numerous pediatric research trials,
including ones that specialize in Tourette’s Disorder and ADHD. She has experience in
conducting trials efficiently, while placing the utmost importance on patient safety and data
integrity while following ICH-GCP guidelines and study protocols. Arthishia is passionate about
her role here at the Kids Clinic as it involves two things very dear to her; clinical research and
Lilit has joined Kids Clinic as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She holds a Masters in Health
Sciences, as well as a post graduate certificate in Clinical Research. Furthermore, she has been
working in the clinical research field for the past decade and has gained valuable experience in
coordinating various clinical trials as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Hospital for Sick
Children and Toronto General Hospital. Lilit possesses deep compassion and care for every
patient and thus considers it a great delight when patients benefit from the innovative research
being conducted at Kids Clinic.
Mikayla has earned her Master of Arts in Education Studies with a focus in Applied Psychology
in Schools from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Ontario College of
Teachers. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours Specialization in Psychology and a
Bachelor of Education from Nipissing University. Her skills and experience include instruction;
intervention; research and statistics; consultation with parents and schools; and conducting
psychometric and educational assessments. Mikayla believes that every child deserves the
opportunity to become the best possible version of themselves.
